Taxon: Family Phillipsiidae, Genus Ameura?
Locality: McCoy, Eagle County, CO
Age: Pennsylvanian Period, Late Atokan Stage
Rock unit: Minturn Formation
Collector: W. Itano

This is the pygidium (tail) of a trilobite. I believe this belongs to the genus Ameura. It may be Amerura sangamonensis (Meek and Worthen), which was reported from this locality by Stevens (1958). The white square is 1 cm. Trilobites are not common at this locality, although I have seen two complete specimens of rolled-up trilobites.
